12 MOD Prep and 13 DO Amalgam Fill

#12 MOD Prep
The external outline appears rough.  The occlusal outline is centered but the CD1 condenser fit into the isthmus.  The MB cavosurface margin has unsupported enamel. The DL cavosurface margin and angle are rounded and larger than ideal.  As I attempted to smooth out the margins, the boxes grew larger B-L and the margins extended beyond the ideal.  The gingival floor has a clearance closer to 1 mm or more. The axial wall depth/gingival floor width was near 1.5-1.6mm which is on the larger size for a premolar & the axiopulpal line angle is not very smooth. The overall outline is slightly rough but there's no damage to the adjacent tooth.

Next time
- I will work on not letting the proximal box get so large buccolingually and instead, break the marginal contact just to the bare minimum of 0.2-0.5mm.
- I will try to not drop the box depth too deep so that the gingival clearance stays closer to 0.5mm.  By doing this, there will be more tooth structure left to smooth out the walls and make it an overall better prep.

#13 DO Amalgam Fill

The occlusal anatomy was harmoniously restored but the central groove goes a little too far distolingually.  There was slight flash present but no voids.  There is no proximal contact from the occlusal view but there appeared to be contact from the buccal and lingual views with my mirror.  Overall, the surface was a little rough and the typodont could be cleaner.
Next time - I will work on carving out better occlusal anatomy - I will do more burnishing to smooth out the surface - Check the proximal contact from occlusal view as well as buccal and lingual

 #12 MOD Prep
The DB cavosurface margin has an area of chipped enamel.
#13 DO Amalgam Fill
The DB proximal contact appears to be intact with a smooth surface. No overhang noted.

#12 MOD Prep - The DB chip is highly visible and it is easier to see the amount of roughness along the distal proximal box.
